Over the last few weeks I have been working closely with an existing customer of myn to tailor a complete home renovation for her at a rental property she recently purchased in the western suburb of Semaphore in South Australia, right on Semaphore Road across from the beach and the newly renovated Federal Hotel. We have been working closely together to get everything aspect of the project right so that the end result will be mind blowing.
Included in this home renovation and bathroom renovation will be the following: New 8mm floating timber floors throughout the whole unit, painting of the internal walls and doors, complete bathroom renovation, new kitchen, electrical upgrades including new switch board and various light fittings, stainless steel oven and range hood, 4 burner natural gas cook top and all finished off with a full professional clean at the end. Below are a couple images of the progress so far in only a few days this week.
Moving into next week the in wall hot and cold copper plumbing pipes will start getting altered, this will allow for new mixer style tap ware to be installed come the second fix stage of the project. The bath is also getting upgraded to a larger model and this will also need to be installed this week before the tiler attends. The new bath is nearly another 200mm longer and nearly another 250mm deeper this will be a huge improvement as the customer really likes using the bath after a cold winters day. I will be picking the bath up from Reece in Port Adelaide which is only a short drive from Semaphore through Birkenhead and into the Port. Having a plumbing merchant in Port Adelaide makes my life very easy especially if I need a last minute plumbing pipe of fitting.
Once the bath has been installed and the plumbing all altered in the brick walls and in the ground its then time for the tiler to do his work, he will start off with water proofing, this is a crucial part of the process and very important that this is all done correct. While this is all happening the painter will begin his work throughout the entire unit, this fresh vibrant addition will surely give the place a new lease on life.
In the final weeks it will be time for the floating floors to go in and then the cabinet maker will install the brand new kitchen which will have the new stainless steel appliances installed. The customer has opted for an electrolux electric oven and gas cook top, above these appliances will also be a stainless steel range hood. Its going to look simply amazing, I will have to then install the new close couple ceramic toilet pan and cistern, laundry tub and new vanity unit along with the chrome finished mixer taps which set the whole project off nicely.
While we are in the neighborhood of Semaphore and surrounding suburbs such as Exeter, Glanville, Peterhead and Largs Bay we have approached the surrounding residents to let them know we can also have similar work performed for them if they are interested and from these notifications we have already had an inquiry from a customer who would like us to quote on a bathroom renovation west lakes.

A common problem, but an easy fix to "NO HOT WATER" when you have a Bosch Water Wizard, Bosch 10p and Bosch 16p Hot Water Service
The Bosch Water Wizard Hot Water Services are being phased out of existence as majority of these units are 15 years old plus and have since been replaced with a new model. The Bosch P models which the P stands for "pilot light" are also gradually being phased out of the plumbing market in Adelaide as they are no longer considered energy efficient and are being up graded to newer 5 star rated Hot Water System. BUT if you do still own one of these models and it is not leaking water BUT you have no hot water then in most cases there is a relatively easy fix compared to that of installing a new hot water service.
Its not un common for me to get a phone call from one of my customers saying that the hot water is fluctuating and in some cases there is just no hot water at all, they have been out to there Bosch 16p hot water system or Bosch Water Wizard or Bosch 10p and the pilot light is still lit except there is no burner flame when the hot tap is turned on. This is a symptom commonly displayed when the diaphragm inside the water section of the hot water service has split. The diaphragm allows the gas valve to release gas into the burner chamber and start to heat up the water, if this diaphragm is damaged in any way it will not perform its task properly leading to a "NO HOT WATER" scenario, that's when our customers call the the HOT WATER WIZARDS of ADELAIDE.
So how long does a task such as replacing the water section of a Bosch Hot Water Service usually take? Each scenario is different, but in most cases 1 hour is the total time as we carry the "water section repair kits" in our vans to fix these hot water systems on the spot guaranteeing same day hot water repairs Adelaide. As long as the 2 star head screws which release the actual water section are not corroded and in good condition which can be hit and miss especially with a unit that is over 10 years old removing the water section is pretty easy for a licensed master plumber and gas fitter. Its not just the diaphragm which we replace when putting a water section repair kit through a hot water unit, there are numerous o rings, fibre washers and other various parts such as filters which also contribute to making the gas burner fire correctly again allowing a strong roosters tail looking flame to heat your water.
This is the most common fault with the Water Wizard, 13P and 16P Hot Water Systems that we find as the Hot Water Wizards of Adelaide apart from the heat ex changer leaking and if the heat ex changer has started to leak it really is time to start considering a new hot water system installation Adelaide.

The week started off in Norwood and finished very late Friday night in Norwood, you could say I spent majority of my week working as a Plumber in Norwood. Norwood is a suburb which is located only a few kilometres from Adelaide's CBD and it has some very old majestic properties making it quite the pleasure to work in and around Norwood. The Parade which is the main road leading in and out is probably what Norwood is well known for with many 5 star boutique shops and also some of Adelaide's finest cafes and restaurants to grab a coffee or even a bite to eat and lets not forget the Bath Hotel for a sneaky wine or a pint or two on a Friday night after a huge week of Plumbing.
As I mentioned at the start of my post I kicked off my week as a Plumber in Norwood, over the weekend a customer contacted me saying they had a blocked drain, fortunately the drain was still going down but very slowly so it could wait till Monday and that was my first job. My customer had accidentally flushed a click on toilet deodoriser down the loo and it had lodge itself inside the 100mm drain pipe work. I started off plunging and roding the pan with my closet auger as there were no external Inspection Points, after about 30 long and smelly minutes I still could not get the blockage to move. It was time to pull out the big guns "the HYDRO JETTER" pressure drain cleaner and sure enough after about 15 minutes of jetting the blocked drain away went the blockage and the customer was back in business, once again the Hydro Jetting Drain Cleaning Machine proved to be king when it came to getting a blocked drain cleaned in Adelaide.
Later on in the week I was also very busy throughout Norwood with everyday plumbing tasks such as repairing dripping taps, leaking toilet cisterns and installing a new kitchen sink mixer tap which a customer of myn had purchased from Bunnings at Kent Town.
To finish my week off I was contacted by a Property Management Company which I regularly help out with various maintenance plumbing and gas tasks throughout Adelaide, they were contacted by one of there tenants late Friday night, the tenant had arrived home to find there Hot Water System gushing with water all over the concrete floor outside. After receiving the EMERGENCY PLUMBING call I made it out to the house within the hour which was in Wattle Park a stones through away from Norwood. The Hot Water System was very old approx 15 years and the top of it had corroded away and had started to expel water. I managed to isolate the water to the Hot Water Service and then turn the energy source off to the unit also. This Hot Water Service will now need to be replaced as there is no way of fixing this particular Rheem Hot Water Unit.
