Its not unusual to hear one of our customers say "we thought because the cistern was broken we couldn't flush the toilet".
Although the cistern is not actually working you can still manage to flush away any debris that are put into the toilet pan with out using the cistern avoiding the need for an emergency plumber call out.
Just about everyone has a bucket lying around the house right? So all you need to do is have access to some form of tap around the house. Fill the bucket with enough water so you can lift it comfortably with out spilling it and injuring yourself. Then just tip it into the bowl of the toilet each time the toilet is used. By doing this you are actually performing the job of what the toilets cistern would typically perform but instead just flushing the debris away manually via the water from the bucket. This task can be performed many times until you can arrange for a local plumbing company to arrive to your home or office.
