The week started off in Norwood and finished very late Friday night in Norwood, you could say I spent majority of my week working as a Plumber in Norwood. Norwood is a suburb which is located only a few kilometres from Adelaide's CBD and it has some very old majestic properties making it quite the pleasure to work in and around Norwood. The Parade which is the main road leading in and out is probably what Norwood is well known for with many 5 star boutique shops and also some of Adelaide's finest cafes and restaurants to grab a coffee or even a bite to eat and lets not forget the Bath Hotel for a sneaky wine or a pint or two on a Friday night after a huge week of Plumbing.
As I mentioned at the start of my post I kicked off my week as a Plumber in Norwood, over the weekend a customer contacted me saying they had a blocked drain, fortunately the drain was still going down but very slowly so it could wait till Monday and that was my first job. My customer had accidentally flushed a click on toilet deodoriser down the loo and it had lodge itself inside the 100mm drain pipe work. I started off plunging and roding the pan with my closet auger as there were no external Inspection Points, after about 30 long and smelly minutes I still could not get the blockage to move. It was time to pull out the big guns "the HYDRO JETTER" pressure drain cleaner and sure enough after about 15 minutes of jetting the blocked drain away went the blockage and the customer was back in business, once again the Hydro Jetting Drain Cleaning Machine proved to be king when it came to getting a blocked drain cleaned in Adelaide.
Later on in the week I was also very busy throughout Norwood with everyday plumbing tasks such as repairing dripping taps, leaking toilet cisterns and installing a new kitchen sink mixer tap which a customer of myn had purchased from Bunnings at Kent Town.
To finish my week off I was contacted by a Property Management Company which I regularly help out with various maintenance plumbing and gas tasks throughout Adelaide, they were contacted by one of there tenants late Friday night, the tenant had arrived home to find there Hot Water System gushing with water all over the concrete floor outside. After receiving the EMERGENCY PLUMBING call I made it out to the house within the hour which was in Wattle Park a stones through away from Norwood. The Hot Water System was very old approx 15 years and the top of it had corroded away and had started to expel water. I managed to isolate the water to the Hot Water Service and then turn the energy source off to the unit also. This Hot Water Service will now need to be replaced as there is no way of fixing this particular Rheem Hot Water Unit.
